<strong>Purpose of our handbook</strong>

This book is an abbreviated encapsulation of KN’s general membership policies, practices, and benefits. Our handbook is for information purposes only. It will not and is not intended to address every possible situation a membership situation. However, we ask that you read, comprehend, and strictly follow the fundamentals behind the handbook. as KN continues to move forward, we hope to see this serve all current and new members being apart of our by gamers for gamers foundation.

<strong>What you should know</strong>

<strong>KN is self-funded.</strong> Since the beginning we have always paid for things ourselves, the majority of the amazing tools this community utilizes is funded by the leadership within. ALL donations are used towards the resources we provide for members, as well as tournaments and various prizes. Nobody here is paid for anything, except the pure pleasure in investing our time and finances into making this something beyond the average gaming clan. (All Social Media and Marketing is paid for by the leaders out of pocket.)

<strong>KN has haters</strong>. Surprisingly one of the toughest parts of success is finding peers happy for you. But as they say, Anyone can get pity. Jealousy you have to earn. We’re what is considered a “progressive community” which means we do not practice hostile activities such as trash talk, harassment or cyber crimes. Not all groups are like us, some see your success and desire to cause harm. These are people we “blacklist”. We block all contact with these people for the protection of ourselves and members.

<b>Relationship Policy:</b>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>No KN member shall engage in a romantic or sexual relationship with another member when one of those members supervises or evaluates the other. No supervisor may supervise another member with whom that member lives, whether or not the individuals are engaged in a romantic or sexual relationship. When a member is involved in a relationship with another member s/he supervises, teaches or evaluates, such that a conflict of interest arises, as defined herein, then that relationship shall be subject to the disclosure and management of conflicts provisions of this policy.</span>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>This policy isn’t to punish members who are in a relationship, this is to ensure total transparency within the community and it’s leadership:</span>

<span style=”color: #ff0000;”><b>If members are both in squad ranks (PVT- GEN):</b></span>
<li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>The lower ranking partner must be removed from the squad, and put into another one. If the division doesn’t offer the same game type(s) the removed individual plays, they must be moved to a different division.</span>
<li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>They cannot be in the same squad if in a relationship, this is to ensure no favoritism occurs.</span></li>
<span style=”color: #ff0000;”><b>If either member a division staff rank (COFO – DIV L):</b></span>
<li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>The lower ranking partner, again, must be removed. But this time, it must be from the division. If the receiving division does not offer the same game type(s) the removed individual plays (highly unlikely), then arrangements can be made in the new division to accommodate the new member.</span>
<li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>Someone who is a GEN+ cannot be in the same squad if in a relationship, this is to ensure that no favoritism occurs.</span></li>
<span style=”color: #ff0000;”><b>If either member is a senior leader (DIR – BoD):</b></span>
<li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>The lower ranking partner may stay in the division, but the higher ranking senior leader must be removed from overseeing the division. This means the senior leader cannot be the direct leadership over the specific division.</span>
<li style=”font-weight: 400;”><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>Someone who is a DIR+ cannot be over the division their partner is apart of, this ensures that no favoritism occurs.</span></li>
<span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>All relationships that fall under these guidelines are subject to full disclosure to the Executive Leadership of Killjoy Network. This process is necessary to avoid any conflict of interest or favoritism allegations that may come of the disclosed relationship. Failure to disclose a relationship that falls along these guidelines can/could be subject to removal from the community. Some exceptions can be made by Executive Leadership of KN.</span>

<b>One recruit a day Policy:</b>

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Every squad in KN is expected to grow at a minimum of one person a day, for <strong>AT LEAST 5 days a week</strong>. A division does not have to enforce this policy if they are under 3 squads. Please keep in mind this does not mean that every KN member in a squad has to recruit someone, it is only mandatory that one person in the squad recruits someone daily. So every squad affected by this policy should grow by 5 members a week at the minimum, followed by those five new members joining our forums, discord, and Xbox Club.</span>

<hr />

<span style=”color: #ff0000;”><b>Discord Participation Policy</b></span>

<span style=”color: #ff0000;”><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>All members of KN will be required to have access, in some part, to the Discord App for the sake of proper communication within the community (Division, Squad, Web). This is accessible through any smartphone, PC, laptop or even via Microsoft Edge (on the Xbox One) or other browsers (if only to the extent of viewing).</span><b> All members MUST </b><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>be in the community-wide Discord chat, division’s individual Discord chats are up to the discretion of the division leader.</span></span>

<hr />

<span style=”color: #ff0000;”><b>Any member of KN wishing to have or create their own server:</b></span>
<li><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>Has to get permission from their Division Leader, the Division Leader will notify their Director which will then take the request to an available board member</span></li>
<li><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>The Board Member will create the requested server and set up the security permissions. Following that, they will continue to monitor the server for the safety of its members. </span></li>
<li><span style=”font-weight: 400; color: #ff0000;”>These policies are in effect for the sake that any Discord server containing more than <strong>15KN members</strong> is considered KN property and will be treated equally to a squad club/tag.</span></li>

A potential recruit must meet the following requirements to be eligible for recruitment into KN:
<li>14+ years of age (Some areas of KN will allow 15-year-olds to join if their birthday is within 6 months).
A working mic or a way around it such as a discord voice channel for verification.
Play the game that squad is based on.</li>
<strong>Transferring Squads or Divisions</strong>
<strong>Squad to Squad Transfer
</strong>Sometimes members request a transfer for a variety of reasons, to include a primary game change, family or friends in another squad or because some members just don’t get along. One of the ways to resolve the situation is to remove one member from the equation. Within the division, the Co-Founder(s) get in a party with the consent of the GENs and then approve the transfer.
<span style=”color: #ff0000;”>A transfer isn’t that simple, a member must recruit someone if requested by the General to make up for the loss.</span>
<span style=”color: #ff0000;”>Sergeant and below do not need a recruit to transfer.</span>
<span style=”color: #ff0000;”>Staff Sergeant – Master Sergeant: 1 Recruit if requested.</span>
<span style=”color: #ff0000;”>Lieutenant &amp; Captain: Up to 2 recruits if requested.</span>
<span style=”color: #ff0000;”>Major+: Up to 3 recruits if requested.</span>
The departing member may take a one to two rank demotion (usually for officers) if the GEN and/or Div staff see fit.

<strong> Division to Division Transfer
A division transfer works similarly to a squad transfer. At the division-level, though, the two division leaders will make the negotiations with the director(s) over those divisions acting as mediators.
Division-level transfers are also the ones that more often utilize the rank demotions in order to discourage people from transferring for rank, though they still have the same options used for squad transfers to include the combination. A rank demotion is not recommended for division transfers, but not frowned upon either.
<span style=”color: #ff0000;”>A transfer isn’t that simple, a member must recruit someone if requested by the GEN to make up for the loss.</span>
– Killjoy members CANNOT leave KN and rejoin within a 4 month time frame in a SEPARATE squad or division because their transfer request wasn’t approved. This will result in immediate removal from the KSI Global Gaming Network.

<strong>Rejoining KN Procedures</strong>
If a member chooses to leave the community (when it is not the result of a blacklist or DNH), they may return. If a member returns within 24 hours, they may be able to retain their previous rank. After 48 hours, they must apply on the forums in the court area to rejoin and will not retain the same rank. More information in the Handbook, go to “Member Reinstatement Policy”

<strong>Procedures for rejoining the Killjoy Network after being Blacklisted or DNH’d.</strong>
–The only way to get access to join back into KSI after being Blacklisted or DNH’d is to file a court appeal in the Official Court System in KSI. Those applying for an appeal should ensure they have witnesses to the reason for the blacklisting (if possible) and character witnesses for their return. The Court will then make a determination on if that person is to be removed from the blacklist/DNH and allowed to rejoin. They are also authorized to make conditions for rejoining such as rank locks, required courses, and specified divisions.
– Timeline for appeals:
– First appeal: 30 days after DNH/ Blacklist
– Second and consequent appeals (if first was denied): Discretion of the courts.

<strong>Being removed from a Squad/Division</strong>.
–A KN member may be removed from the community at any point in time for violating the KN Code of Conduct and/or Xbox Live disclaimer, multiple minor infractions (usually a 3-strike policy), or a major infraction. The removal may be from a squad, a division or the community. Squad removals can be done by a General or higher. Division removals can be done by the Co-Div or higher. Removals may or may not be in conjunction with a DNH or blacklisting.
Examples of infractions include:
– Disrespect
– Poaching (the act of enticing/taking KSI members away from the community)
– Hitting (destroying a squad or a division)
– Continued unexplained inactivity
– Breaking rules and policies

Leaders come and go, but their influential spirits and ideas will forever help shape the walls of KSI. KSI wants to honor the leaders who have done a lot to get KSI where it is today, this is why KSI implemented the new rank “High Council”.

The High Council is a prestigious group of former leaders that have not only displayed the utmost loyalty but are highly accomplished in KSI. They are not a part of daily operations but work hand in hand with the Board of Directors and Executive Staff to continue to push KSI towards a progressive and positive future. They have no actual clan ops power, however, but can join meetings and give advice when needed.

We would like to thank the following leaders of the High Council for their service to the community:
